If you have different needs for reports based on who they’re going to, then Export Profiles are already extremely useful for you.  But what if your customers need their reports to change – or need sections to appear/disappear?

Export profiles can be changed to customise your reports’ appearance when needed.

Why Update an Export Profile?

You might have noticed that if you change settings on an Export Profile that is linked to a template, the settings are not automatically reflected in the template’s profile; this is because an export profile needs to be removed, updated, and re-attached in order to reflect the changes properly.

Sounds odd?  Think of it this way: most companies that comply with OSHA (the OSHA ‘Job Safety and Health: It’s the Law’ poster, for example) must remove the poster, update it, and replace it regularly as regulations demand.  Updating your Export profiles is a similar situation as your needs and designs change:

IMPORTANT NOTE

Export Profiles are currently only able to be edited and managed on your iOS or Android mobile devices.

Updating an Export Profile in iOS

  • Launch the iAuditor app on your mobile device.  Next, find the template that you wish to update an Export profile for, and tap on the pen to access the template editor.

 

 

  • Tap on the ‘Details’ heading, then tap the cog in the top left-hand corner to access the ‘Options’ menu.

 

  • In the ‘Options’ menu, tap on ‘Manage Export Profiles.’
  • In this menu, you will see a list of Export Profiles.  Any that are already attached to the template will display a tick. Deselect, or untick, the one you wish to update, and tap on ‘Edit settings and manage device profiles.’

 

  • Tap on ‘Profiles’ in the top right corner, load the new profile, and then continue making any changes to the export profile that are needed; you can edit a large number of options in the Export profiles – some of which are detailed here.
  • Once the changes have been made, tap on ‘Save.’

 

  • Navigate back to the ‘Export Profiles’ page and select the preferred profile to attach it to the template. Once selected, you will see a blue tick next to it.  You’re almost done!
  • The template can now be closed.  Be sure to Sync your device as well to sync these changes to the file on your iAuditor web app, as well.
  • If your template is Shared to other users, syncing will also provide their Shared templates with the new export profile.

Updating an Export Profile with Android

IMPORTANT NOTE

If the options to select the Details tab or Export Profile management screen are not available using these steps, you may need to access the Settings menu and tap more >> Settings >> Template Editor to activate the Advanced Template Editor.

  • Launch the iAuditor app on your mobile device.  Next, find the template that you wish to update an Export profile for, and tap on it – afterwards, tap ‘Edit Template.’

  • Tap on the ‘Details’ heading next to ‘Fields’ at the top of the screen, then tap the Options menu.

  • In the ‘Options’ menu, tap on ‘Export Profiles.’

 

  • In this menu, you will see a list of Export Profiles.  Any that are already attached to the template will display a tick in the tickbox.  Deselect, or untick, the one you wish to update, and tap on ‘Edit’ next to the ‘Manually edit device profiles’ heading.
  • This effectively removes the Export profile from the template, so now it can be altered!

 

  • Tap on ‘Select Profile’ in the top right corner, load the profile you wish to work with, then make any changes to the export profile that are needed; you can edit a large number of options in the Export profiles – some of which are detailed here.

 

  • When you’ve made all the edits to the profile that you need, navigate back to the ‘Export Profiles’ page and select the preferred profile to attach it to the template.
  • Once selected, you will see a tick in the checkbox.  You’re almost done!

 

  • The template can now be closed.  Be sure to Sync your device as well to sync these changes to the file on your iAuditor web app, as well.
  • If your template is Shared to other users, syncing will also provide their Shared templates with the new export profile.
IMPORTANT NOTE

Since the export profile update process is mainly Administrator-side, your users will not receive a notice of the updated Export profile; they will need to sync their devices before they can use the updated Export profile.
