Mandatory items are useful when there are questions in a template that are so important that they must be answered. If an auditor attempts to mark an audit as complete but mandatory items remain unanswered, an error message will appear signalling that mandatory questions need to be completed:

Note: You can make any item mandatory except “Information” and “Smart Field”.

  1. Click any item when editing a Template to make it expand.
  2. Click the “Mandatory switch on the bottom left corner.
  3. Once a field has been made mandatory, a red line down the left side border of the field will appear.

  1. Tap on any item when editing a Template to make it expand and tap the cog wheel down the bottom of the item.
  2. Toggle the “Mandatory” switch

Tip: To distinguish a mandatory question from a regular question when performing an audit, look for the red line on the left border of the item.
