Mandatory items are useful when there are questions in a template that are so important that they must be answered. If an auditor attempts to mark an audit as complete but mandatory items remain unanswered, an error message will appear signalling that mandatory questions need to be completed:

 

 

IMPORTANT NOTE

In the Classic Template Editor you can make any item mandatory except “Information” and “Smart Field”.

In the New Template Editor all except “Instructions”.

Classic Template Editor

  1. Click any item when editing a Template to make it expand.
  2. Click the “Mandatory switch on the bottom left corner.
  3. Once a field has been made mandatory, a red line down the left side border of the field will appear.

New Template Editor

  1. Click any item when editing a Template to make it expand.
  2. Tick the “Mandatory” box.
  3. Once a field has been made mandatory, a red asterisk will appear on the left side of the item.
