We understand in some scenarios, you may have existing forms or checklists with questions that you want to bring into iAuditor. Whether the questions are stored in Excel, Word, or PDF documents, they can be copied across into your iAuditor templates with just a few clicks or taps.

This article shows you how to copy questions from external documents and paste them into your templates on the web app. Keep in mind that whilst we aim to support as many document types as possible, the questions you wish to copy across must be in a list to be pasted successfully in the template editor.

Copy and paste questions into a template

You must have “View and Edit” permission at least for the template you wish to copy and paste questions into. Learn how you can share your templates with your team.

We recommend having your external document open and ready before following the steps below.

  1. Log in to the iAuditor web app.

  2. Select “Templates” from the left-hand side menu.

  3. Hover your cursor over the template you wish to copy and paste questions into.

  4. Click “Edit” on the right-hand side.

  5. Select the question line where you wish to insert the questions.

  6. Click the downward arrow under the “Type of response” column on the right-hand side.

  7. Select the response type you wish to use for the questions in the external document.

  8. In your external document, copy the list of questions.

  9. Go back to the template editor and press “Control + V” (Windows) or “Command + V” (macOS) on your keyboard.

  10. This pastes all the questions copied in the external document following the response type you selected in step 7.

  11. Repeat from step 5 for any other questions you wish to copy across.
