Note: The Barcode field is only available on iAuditor for your mobile devices. It will not appear among the fields on iAuditor, the web app’s Template Editor. It will appear as an ‘Unsupported field’ when opening the template on iAuditor, the web app.

The barcode scanner feature will allow you to scan a barcode using your mobile device’s camera. The code will be translated and populate the field with text.  The barcode scanner field is available in the Template Editor of iAuditor.

  • EAN-13/UPC-A
  • UPC-E
  • EAN-8
  • Code 128
  • Code 39
  • Interleaved 2 of 5
  • QR Code

[Apple device] iOS

  1. While conducting an audit, tap the Scan button in the barcode field.

2. The barcode scanner will automatically open your device’s camera and attempt to focus on a barcode in front of it.

3. Once the barcode is scanned, the plain text version of the barcode will populate the text field.

[Android device] Android

  1. While conducting an audit, tap the barcode icon in the barcode field.

2. The barcode scanner will automatically open your device’s camera and attempt to focus on a barcode in front of it.

3. Once the barcode is scanned, the plain text version of the barcode will populate the text field.

Note: Glare on the barcode can cause the barcode scan to fail or misread. Excessive motion or shaking can also cause the barcode scan to fail.

Tip: If you cannot scan the barcode, you can manually input the barcode number by tapping on the text box
