You reports generated by iAuditor have the ability to be completely full of useful data and images.  This can, however, raise the size of your report file to the point where most email clients can’t send it.  If your file can’t be transmitted, your data doesn’t get to where it needs to be!

The vast majority of email clients and email servers have an attachment size limit; this prevents an email server from being overloaded with the transfer of incredibly large files.  Most reports in iAuditor can be emailed normally, but for those with extensive data and image files, you may need to reduce your report’s file size.

In order to retain your information but lower the size of your file, you can follow the steps below:

iOS

Compressing the Images in your Audit

  1. Launch iAuditor and find the audit you wish to export. Tap the audit and tap ‘Export’.

2. You can now configure the look and feel of your exported reports here using the ‘Manually edit exporting settings’ option.

3. Tap ‘Customise” in the “Selected Document Types – PDF” section. In the new menu that opens, tap “Media Options” near the top of the menu.

4. Change the “Media Quality” and “Media Resolution” to “Medium” or “Low”. This will incrementally compress your images by lowering the image quality.  Once you have compressed the image size, the attachment will be smaller, and you may be able to email the attachment.

Omitting Media from your Audit

You can also disable media from appearing in the Appendix of the report, and this will dramatically lower the file size.

  1. Repeat steps 1 – 3 above.
  2. Tap “Audit.”
  3. In the Audit page, turn the switch to “OFF” for “Show Thumbnails”. Tap “Back”.

  1. Under the “Media” heading, tap “Media”.
  2. Turn the switch to “OFF” for “Show Media”.

Tip: If most of the audits you’re completing contain a large number of images, then you may wish to save the settings above to an Export Profile. This is a good way to cut down on the number of steps you need to perform for each audit
