That's why we know that data and systems talking to each other is essential to your business, and been focusing heavily on making it easier for you to send and extract data to/from iAuditor.

Corrective Actions

We recently release API support for retrieving iAuditor corrective actions from our system. Now you can manage actions automatically from an external system and export it into task management and Business Intelligence (BI) applications. Use it to manage your actions list in an external system. You can now automate:

Attaching corrective actions to audits for a manager to sign-off
Updating an action's status to reflect progress recorded in another system
Deleting actions according to custom criteria like 'too old,' 'completed' or other

How to use this update As a quality or safety leader, you want to ensure your team is doing their jobs correctly. Corrective actions in iAuditor allow you to create a workflow: assign an action and mark it as in progress. Now you can extend that capability by managing the actions in an external task management system. This update provides you with an oversight of the company, so you don’t have to be in a million places at once. Action hazards as they come in - from the comfort of your desk. To get started with the Actions API, get an API Token (requires a Premium subscription) and follow the instructions on our developer portal.

User Management

Using our API - add, remove, and update staff information in your system and auto-sync to iAuditor. How to use this update Let’s say you have 700 stores across the country. New staff are continually being added, keeping that list up to date in iAuditor and, your system takes time and requires double handling. Now you can update staff details in your user management system and auto-sync them to iAuditor.

MS Flow Connector

Microsoft Flow is a cloud-based software tool that allows you to create and automate workflows across multiple applications and services without the need for developer help. Applications you can connect to include Sharepoint, Outlook, and MS Teams. Read more about how to set up MS Flow.

Webhooks Update

Up until recently, the only way for you to know if changes are made to inspection data is to poll the iAuditor API continuously. When near real-time updates were necessary, we saw our customers poll our API as frequently as once every few seconds. Polling is both slow and inefficient. For that same reason, it is not recommended by third-party integration platforms like Microsoft Flow, Zapier, and others. Modern web services are increasingly built so that they notify each other of changes when they happen — therefore avoiding the need for polling. We are pleased to announce support for event notifications (also known as 'webhooks') in iAuditor. iAuditor webhooks work by having the customer register a URL to receive notifications of audit data changes as they happen. At this point, the following events can be tracked for any audit in the organization:

audit creation
audit modification (including archive/unarchive events)
audit completion

The notifications contain information about the inspection and the user who made the change. A majority of iAuditor integrations we see require performing a particular action when audits are modified. For example:

Keeping track of inspection changes as they happen via a live dashboards or analytics
Exporting inspection data to another system in real-time
Taking action like notifying someone or updating another system

Other types of integrations involve a workflow with the following steps:

Start an inspection automatically from within one system (e.g., Salesforce, SharePoint or other), pre-filling certain information in the inspection with customer reference data
Complete the inspection using iAuditor
Export the inspection data back to the original system to be associated with the data used to start the inspection in the first place
