Manual tasks no more! Using iAuditor’s connection with Zapier, you can set up a step-by-step workflow from inspection export in iAuditor, through to another business system. Whenever you complete a specific inspection, use Zapier to mix and match actions that support a range of tasks. Zapier is a web automation tool, known as a “cloud-connector” that can be used to link two apps together, without the need for coding or development work. Supported Triggers

  • Any Audit Completion (Advanced) – Triggers when any inspection (audit) is completed. Advanced provides access to more detailed fields.
  • Audit Completion (Advanced) – Triggers when a new inspection (audit) is completed for a selected template. Advanced provides access to more detailed fields.
  • Audit Completion – Triggers when a new inspection (audit) is completed for a selected template.
  • Any Audit Completion – Triggers when any inspection (audit) is completed.

Supported Actions

  • Get Web Report – Get a web report link for a specified inspection (audit)
  • Create Audit Link – Creates a link that can be used to open the iAuditor app or the iAuditor website at a specific inspection (audit).
  • Share Audit – Shares an inspection (audit) with a user or group in my organization.

Automating workflows on inspection completion with Zapier

  1.  Create a Zapier account by going to Zapier.com
  2. Select iAuditor as the “trigger app”
  3. Select from the recommended zaps or click ‘Make a Zap’ to create your own

  4. Choose between a specific inspection (audit) completion or any audit completed and click ‘Save+Continue’
  5. Add your iAuditor account by clicking “Connect a New Account”
  6. Log in to your iAuditor account on the iAuditor web app, and go to “My Profile” to generate the API Access Token.
  7. Scroll down to the section entitled “API” and type in your iAuditor password
  8. An API token will generate for you to copy and paste
  9. Note: You will only see the API section if you have a Premium account.

  10. Insert your API Access Token into Zapier
  11. Select an inspection template if you are using the audit completion trigger.
  12. When creating a Zap, only audits completed after that time will be automatically actioned
  13. Continue through this step and ensure the last inspection (audit) completed for the selected template includes entered data
  14. Select to test your connection, assuming Zapier returns a successful test, proceed to the next step.
  15. Now choose how you want to automate your task by selecting an “action” app.
  16. For example, do you want to automate an email, SMS, automatically create an Evernote?

  17. Now you need to configure the action app. In this example, we’re setting up iAuditor to trigger an email in gmail

  18. Fill out your fields for the email action as required

  19. You can click on the icon on the right of each input field. This will allow you to insert values from the audit into the email.
  20. You can select an inspection (audit) value from the drop-down list
  21. Customize the email that will trigger each time an audit is completed for this template
  22. In this example, the email is configured to automatically send to [email protected] The subject will be the inspection author (name of who completed the audit will be placed here). The body section includes the name of the inspection template that was completed, and the score and total score.

  23. Zapier will show you the plain text version of the action (using the most recently completed inspection audit as test data)

  24. Assuming your test is successful, select to finish
  25. Name your zap, and turn it on
